Bear-y Christmas Preview

In my quest for a perfect first Christmas present for Emilia, I came across a fantastic website: Funky Friends Factory. Through this site, you can buy all sorts of patterns and kits to make a vast array of adorable stuffed animals and dolls designed by a woman, Pauline, in Brisbane, Australia. She even offers a free pattern, Honey Bear, to subscribers to her newsletter. Well, today I made a prototype of Honey from an old gray fleece blanket and I'm thrilled with the finished product. Emilia's will be made from pale pink flannelette (update: from two beige wash cloths), after which I think I'll switch back to fleece, as fleece is a lot more forgiving. Eventually I'll resume work on a baby quilt and a cross stitch scene of Anita Jeram's nutbrown hares, both of which I was considering making Emilia for Christmas, but right now this is much more fun!
