Together At Last, Together Forever

I know it's been a while since I last posted. I've been enjoying married life to the fullest - and evidently to the exclusion of writing about it! So here's a quick recap:
Our reception was held on August 8 at Camelot Golf and Country Club. We had wild mushroom bisque, chicken with beurre blanc, and chocolate mousse with fresh berries. Martin and I danced our first dance to Shania Twain's "You're Still the One", which, if you listen closely to the lyrics, was very fitting. Photos were taken by Martin's cousin Annie (among them, the beautiful shot of our hands that you see above), anecdotes shared, and presents opened. We thank all of you who helped to make our evening so special.
Since then we've been working to merge our belongings, discard duplicates, and fill in the gaps with a few new items. One such new item was my bike, a birthday present from Martin. Of course, I couldn't wait for my birthday to try it out, so we may have gone riding a couple of times already! We've also gone berry picking, rollerblading, indoor climbing, and house hunting, and we've purchased "wood" laminate flooring to replace the old carpet in the basement.
During the day when Martin is at work, I've been working my way through a handful of really good books and two personal projects: a game that I've been wanting to create for some time now and a book of reminiscences, particularly from the this year and last, that I may submit for publication when it's finished. I will definitely attempt to market the game.
This weekend we'll spend Saturday in Montreal for Martin's parents' 30th anniversary and Sunday evening at home with some of my extended family for my 27th birthday. Starting in September, the Reserves will borrow Martin from me every Tuesday night and one weekend a month. I plan to start Irish dancing on Tuesday nights, though, so it shouldn't be so bad.
And there you have it: a very happy first month in the life of the Ottawa Vigers!
